Sedona MediSpa & Wellness is now a Certified Sustainable Business at the Conservationist/Bronze level
Sedona MediSpa & Wellness is the premier Medical Aesthetics and Wellness Center in Sedona, voted ‘Best of Sedona’ Kudos Readers’ Choice Awards every year since opening a decade ago. They focus on helping patients while being good stewards. Owners Linda and Eric Haggard explained, “We took the Sustainable Business Certification assessment to discover what else we could be doing for sustainability.”
Linda Haggard is a Physician Assistant in Internal, Integrative Medicine, Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy for Women and Men, and Aesthetic Medicine. Eric Haggard is a Physical Therapist, specializing in Orthopedics, Manual Therapies and Integrative Healing.
The Haggards already have a number of sustainable practices in the business. Their building has so much natural light that they rarely need to turn on artificial lights, and some of the clinic’s electricity is supplied by solar panels that cover their parking area. Many treatment products are based on essential oils rather than synthetic chemicals. The water associated with physical therapy treatments is used to nourish outdoor desert landscaping and bird feeders supplement habitat.
They show appreciation for their patients in many ways. Water is offered in washable champagne flutes, which creates an atmosphere of pampering while avoiding single-use cups. The clinic also provides meeting room space to patients who want to conduct a workshop or presentation.
Sedona MediSpa & Wellness supports the staff with continuing education and tuition reimbursement. Weekly meetings are a space to collaborate and solve problems, so turnover is low. The business is active with the Sedona Chamber and they’ve offered a free wellness evaluation to the winner of the upcoming Sustainable Entrepreneur Award. See who else is certified.
