Volunteer Appreciation Week

April 19, 2018

The week of April 15-21 is National Volunteer Appreciation Week and the Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau would like to take this opportunity to thank our very loyal and hard-working volunteers not only at the Visitor Center, but also those who volunteer in and around the entire community.

Established in 1974, National Volunteer Week has grown exponentially in scope each year since, drawing the support and endorsement of all subsequent U.S. presidents, governors, mayors, and other respected elected officials.

National Volunteer Week is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities.  It’s about demonstrating to the nation that by working together, we have the fortitude to meet our challenges and accomplish our goals.

National Volunteer Week is about taking action, encouraging individuals and their communities to be at the center of social change-discovering and actively demonstrating their collective power to foster positive transformation.

This is the perfect opportunity for the volunteers to seize the moment and share the national spotlight the National Volunteer Week deservedly receives. Simultaneously, you can leverage this brief window of national opportunity to advance your individual cause and promote volunteer commitment in our community.

Volunteers in Sedona truly offer themselves willingly and many times go unnoticed but who, by their efforts, make our community culturally fuller, and socially conscious. In fact, many of our non-profit organizations would not exist without the dedication from volunteers and board members.

The SCC&TB truly value the thousands of hours our volunteers invest at our Visitor Center, our Board of Directors, mixer volunteers and our Ambassador program. We also value the thousands of hours all volunteers in Sedona are investing for their preferred cause and we take this week to say, “thank you all volunteers for what you do and how you help.”

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Brenda Andrusyszyn, Visitor Center Manager at 282-7890.
