SEDONA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ANNOUNCES CANDIDATES FOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTION

The Nominating Committee for the 2010 Board of Directors election made up

of: Linda Goldenstein, Chairman; Carol Golden, Sedona Elegant Events; Mal Wienges, Sedona Broadcasting; Wendy Lippman, Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village; and Jennifer Wesselhoff President/CEO of the Sedona Chamber of Commerce announce the candidates for the 2010 Board of Directors.

The candidate slate has been determined by the Nominating Committee and consists of the following candidates: (* indicates incumbents): Judi "JB" Bloomfield, Sedona Luxury Weddings & Events, Kevin Brackin, Brackin Benefits, Ed Conway, Sedona Rouge Resort, Joel Gilgoff, marketing professional, Annika Jackson *, Enchantment Resort, Brenda Pakay *, Coldwell Banker, Ralph Woellmer *, Matterhorn Inn & Shoppes, and Tony Rizzo, Oak Creek Country Club .

Any chamber member may self-nominate for the Sedona Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors by submitting a petition bearing the signatures of 5% (approximately 50) of the qualified chamber membership. (Multiple persons from the same firm do not constitute qualified chamber members.) Interested parties may obtain petitions at the chamber’s business office at 45 Sunset Drive. Completed petitions must be delivered to the business office or mailed to PO Box 478, Sedona AZ 86339, no later than 5:00pm on September 17, 2010.

A ballot will be mailed to every chamber member in good standing on September 22, 2010 and members are encouraged to vote. Votes must be received by October 11, 2010 at 5:00pm. The votes are received in sealed envelopes and held for counting.

On October 12, 2010 at least three (3) but no more than five (5) judges who are not members of the Board of Directors or candidates for election will count the ballots. These judges will be appointed by the Chairman of the Board and they will have complete supervision over the election, including the auditing of the ballots. The judges will report the results of the election to the Board of Directors and elected candidates will be notified immediately by the Chairman of the Board who also sends a written notification to those who were not elected.

This is an open process that offers interested Chamber members the opportunity to volunteer their time and efforts to enhance Sedona’s business environment.
